School Districts and Dick’s Sporting Goods Score in Pinnacle Competition for Shank Public Relations Counselors

Indianapolis-headquartered Shank Public Relations Counselors, Inc. earned three Pinnacle Awards and the Best of Show award from the Hoosier Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for programs and events created for Indianapolis Public Schools, Wayne Township Schools and Dick’s Sporting Goods. The Pinnacle Awards recognize strategic and tactical programs that demonstrate the highest standards of excellence in public relations.

Shank Public Relations Counselors and Indianapolis Public Schools received a Pinnacle Award and the Best of Show award for the entry, “I Support IPS.”     

Shank Public Relations Counselors and Indianapolis Public Schools also received an Award of Honor in the Special Events and Observances category for the entry, “Treasures in Plain Sight.” The collection includes art treasures by renowned artists such as T.C. Steele. With more than 1000 original paintings and other works of art from which to choose, the exhibit, “Treasures in Plain Sight” showcased 29 paintings and one sculpture. The exhibit raised awareness of the art collection and generated seed funding for future conservation and marketing efforts.

Shank Public Relations Counselors and Wayne Township Schools received a Pinnacle Award in the video programs category for its entry, “Wayne Township Schools: Changing for the Better.” The video program emphasized that the community’s investment in schools is worthwhile and invite community members to visit or take part in their local schools. Shank Public Relations Counselors served as the executive producer using the Ben Davis High School television station, students, teacher and equipment to shoot, edit and post-produce the program. The program also earned a regional Emmy Award in a separate award competition.

“The Wait is Over: Dick’s Sporting Goods Slam Dunks Entry into Indianapolis Market,” received one of the PRSA Pinnacle Awards in the marketing communications category

Shank Public Relations Counselors, Inc. planned and produced simultaneous VIP events for three Dick’s Sporting Good stores opening in the Indianapolis area. The VIP events were the best in company history according to the senior management executives who attended all three events.

These four awards will be added to the company’s long list of national, state and regional recognitions, including the coveted national Award of Excellence in the Public Relations Society of America’s Silver Anvil competition.
